    SPJIMR launches course for family business owners

    SPJIMR has lined up leading business leaders, corporate leaders and faculty members who will teach the programme and interact with participants.

    MUMBAI: SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has launched Lead to Transform, a new global leadership programme for family business owners in collaboration with the Massachusetts-based Babson College, regarded a global leader in entrepreneurship education.

    SPJIMR has lined up leading business leaders, corporate leaders and faculty members who will teach the programme and interact with participants.

    Among those on the faculty list for Lead to Transform are Deepak Parekh, chairman, HDFC; R Gopalakrishnan, former executive director, Tata Sons; Harsh Mariwala, CMD, Marico Ltd; Ranjan Banerjee, dean, SPJIMR; M Suresh Rao, chairperson – Centre for Entrepreneurship, SPJIMR; and Matt Allen, faculty director, Institute for Family Entrepreneurship, Babson.

    The first batch of Lead to Transform will take off at the end of October with a five-day residential immersion on global practices of family businesses, entrepreneurial leadership, and innovative growth strategies at the Babson Executive Conference Centre at Wellesley, Massachusetts. This will be followed by a five-day residential immersion in December in Mumbai, focused on strategic vision, family governance, corporate governance, risk management and wealth management. The programme will offer practice-based learning and guidance to prepare a long-term strategic business plan with the help of SPJIMR faculty members and industry experts.

    The programme is designed for founders, owners, promoters and successors with eight to 10 years of experience. It makes space for a second family member to accompany a senior on the programme to enable effective learning and implementation.
