Windhoek, Namibia – Traversing through the country’s worst economic downturn as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, Trustco Group Holdings continues to ascend, as it once again scooped the Golden Arrow PMR Africa award in the category for achievers rated on their contribution to the economic growth and development in Namibia.
The group received the award this morning at the Safari Hotel and Conference Centre where a coterie of Namibia’s crème de la crème of diverse industries were in attendance. The Golden Arrow PMR Africa award for Leaders and Achievers is rated on the performance of companies demonstrating exceptional managerial and corporate governance qualities in Namibia, as well as doing the most for job creation.
Furthermore, the award is based on a survey rated by a random national sample of 160 respondents consisting of CEOs, MDs and business owners, company directors/managers and senior government officials based in Namibia. Through these awards PMR Africa acknowledges contributions, initiatives, strategies, effort and hard work of all the nominated corporates in Namibia. Trustco Group Holdings in the previous year, 2019, also scooped a Golden Arrow award for most Innovative Companies /Institutions in Namibia, while in 2018 it placed first, receiving a Diamond Arrow award for the most Innovative Company / Institution in Namibia.
This year the PMR awards ceremony, which is usually packed to the brim, changed the way they do things, with the event only lasting for two hours and with a notably shortened, but effective program. Adhering to the strict COVID-19 protocols, the audience were split into 2 auditoriums to maintain all safety aspects of the current national restrictions. Receiving the award on behalf of Trustco Group Holdings, Neville Basson, the Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations, “With all the structural changes, innovative ideas and our proactive tactics we had to apply to manoeuvre through 2020, this award is very special to us. The PMR awards continually creates a global and unique marketing tool for Trustco Group to enhance excellence within the different markets that it operates in globally. The benchmark that this accolade sets for all the peers of creative and entrepreneurial entities in Namibia serves as great motivation to propel Namibia forward into an economic powerhouse on the continent of Africa. This award serves as one more award in a string of accolades that the group scooped in the last 10 years. This is the national survey that the Namibian business community and society at large sees as the barometer in measuring the performance of Namibian corporate entities.
