Republic Bank Ghana PLC has appointed Akua Oduraa Botchway as the Company Secretary following the retirement of B. Ama Amoah who has been with the bank for over 16 years.
Mrs. Botchway assumed the substantive role effective January 1, 2023, following the Bank of Ghana’s approval.
Akua Oduraa Botchway is a Lawyer by profession and has over 20 years of cross-functional private and public service experience in Legal, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Supplier Engagement Management and Customer Service.
She also has over 13 years of cumulative banking experience spanning her career.
Prior to joining the Republic Bank Ghana Group, she worked as a private Legal Practitioner and consulted for Kobaka Chambers and ACA Law Consult respectively.
She has also worked at Barclays Bank Ghana Limited (now Absa Bank), Prudential Bank Limited, Internal Revenue Services (now GRA) and Apex Law Consult.
She holds a BA in Law and Political Science from the University of Ghana and an MBA in Finance from the Coventry University, UK. She is a Notary Public and holds a BL from the Ghana School of Law.
Akua Oduraa Botchway is a Member of the Ghana Bar Association.
At Republic Bank Ghana PLC, she will be a member of the Executive Management Committee (EXCO) and have oversight responsibilities of the Legal and Regulatory Compliance Department and the Corporate Secretariat.
The Board Chairman welcomed Mrs. Botchway to the bank as the new Company Secretary on behalf of the Board of Directors.
He assured her of the board’s commitment to accord her the needed support and cooperation in discharging her duties.
